In this second project the client wanted to change out almost all of the carpeted areas of the home and have engineered hardwood installed in their places. We selected a varying width plank hand scraped maple in a dark tone to contrast the lighter creamier tone of the existing polished travertine. On the upper floor we also had the contractor install a whisper mat for sound absorption. The areas were the living and dining space, the family room, all of the 4 bedrooms, the loft and the upper corridor. The only room that did not receive hardwood was the workout room across from the living and dining area in the front area of the home. The client also wanted his upstairs loft area designed. In this loft area we added wall sconces, black out window coverings, furniture, and furnishings all to complete a cohesive comfortable media space the family could use. We designed custom poufs for the client’s son and son’s friends to use for their gaming episodes. We incorporated natural organic touches in a soft grey palette and the freshness of the aqua and light green color palette as accents lightened up the space. Since my client is a lover of hunting we added a simple sculptural embellished antler on top of the console.
